Two Pioneer CDJ-800 CD Turntables |
 |
Many brands have tried to keep up with the times and there have been several attempts to enable scratching up of CDs via sliders, pads, sticks and jog wheels. Hopes were raised only then to be dashed. Finally, at the dawn of this century, Pioneer released the CDJ-800 which even now remains the benchmark by which other CD decks are judged. Given how many big name deejays and hiphop outfits are glad to make use of this new technology, both in the studio and on stage, the CD deck's ultimate goal of making its vinyl ancestor redundant has finally been reached. The CDJ-800 uses a touch-sensitive jog wheel that emulates a vinyl turntable, allowing you to scratch or loop CDs, change the tempo with or without affecting the pitch, or play music backwards.

Two Yamaha BR-15 PA Speakers |
 |
15-inch subs
300 watts each
While "BR" presents "bass reflex",
it also proves very appropriate for describing the line's advanced feature
set... Built Right: Combining their knowledge of acoustics and advanced
computer controlled woodworking, Yamaha Music Manufacturing in Thomaston,
Georgia, crafts the BR line of sound reinforcement loudspeakers to exacting
standards. Each model's large steel handles, corner protectors, and built-in
pole sockets, assure both durability and flexibility. Better Response: BR
cabinets are carefully designed for the best balance of small, easy to handle
size and great low-frequency response, using Bass Reflex technology. High-frequency
response is also enhanced with a 1" new titanium HF driver and 90°
by 40° non-resonant horn. Best Reliability: With integral protection circuitry built
into the passive crossover, you can expect a long life of high output and
minimal distortion. |
